This policy explains how news is gathered, checked, edited and published at AI News Nepal. All our journalists and editors follow it.
Accuracy
- Facts, names, titles, figures and dates are checked before publication.
- Data comes from the original source (government bodies, reports, court rulings) wherever possible.
- Claims circulating on social media are not reported as news until they are confirmed.
Sources
- We prefer sources who are named.
- Information given on condition of anonymity is used only when it serves the public interest and is confirmed another way. The editor responsible knows who such sources are.
Fairness
We try to get a response from anyone facing allegations in a story. If we cannot reach them, or they decline to comment, the story says so.
News and opinion
News and opinion are kept apart. Opinion pieces are the writer’s own view, not the position of AI News Nepal.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we correct it quickly. For minor errors, a note at the end of the story says what was corrected and when. Serious errors get a separate correction notice. If you spot a mistake, please tell us through the contact page.
Advertising and sponsored content
Advertisements are labelled “Advertisement” and sponsored content “Sponsored”. Advertisers have no say over what we report or how.
Photos and video
Photos and videos are credited. Photos are never edited in a way that changes their meaning, and illustrative images are marked as such.
Complaints
If you have a complaint about a story, write to us. An editor will look into it and reply. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Press Council Nepal.
